Popgun 3 Wins Eisner Award for Best Anthology

Just announced!
Still can't believe we won an Eisner award for our anthology Popgun 3 (Image Comics). My contribution is called The Spirit Room and takes place in modern day China where a young man travels to a remote hotel up in the mountains where a special "spirit room" is kept for guests from the spirit realm. Many thanks to my editor Paul Montgomery and the rest of the team. Also, Mark Andrew Smith, D. J. Kirkbride, and Joe Keatinge  who edited the fabulous book.

Watchmen Producer Lloyd Levin To Produce Movie Version of Comic Book The Untamed

After years and years I'm finally able to talk about this project.

From Deadline New York:

EXCLUSIVE: Watchmen producer Lloyd Levin will be at Comic-Con, shopping a script for a live action version of the Sebastian A. Jones comic series The Untamed, which was published by Stranger Comics. It is a dark fantasy revenge tale about a man released from hell and given seven days to reap the seven souls that murdered him and his family.

Jones wrote the script and Boom! Studios co-founder Andrew Cosby is attached to make his directorial debut. Jones founded Stranger Comics, which he describes as a boutique digital comic publisher. Levin, whose fanboy resume also includes the Guillermo del Toro-directed Hellboy films and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, will produce with Andrew Sugerman (Shopgirl). The comic was illustrated by Peter Bergting and Darrell May.

Levin said they have locked in Ken Locsmandi, the visual effects supervisor of films like The Matrix and Fight Club, and said the project is being budgeted. He is confident financial will materialize for a modestly-budgeted film that has a harder edge than most fantasy fare. The main character, for instance, is hardly a sympathetic guy. In fact, he’s earned his place in hell.

“He’s killed a lot of people himself, but he not only gets the chance to unravel the mystery of who killed his family and get revenge, but there is a story of redemption here as well,” Levin said.

Birthday Present

One of my best friends turned 40 the other day and I did this painting of Doctor Who for him. It's my take on the fifth doctor. Tom Baker is hard to portrait thanks to him making funny faces all the time (makes portraits look weird) so I decided to be a bit looser on the actual resemblance and just go for it. It also allowed me to add a bit of my friend to the picture, fusing the two together.

Room With a View

This is the dreadful sight I have to look at when writing/drawing.
