About the Author

Peter Bergting is a Swedish illustrator, comics artist, and author known for atmospheric fantasy and dark, myth-infused storytelling. He broke onto the international comics scene with The Portent (Image Comics) and has since carved a niche for himself in the comics business. Alongside comics, he has built a long career as a book cover and fantasy illustrator while also writing and illustrating his own folklore-inspired books.

Peter was born in 1970 in the small town of Åmål, Sweden, where he grew up on a steady diet of comic books and fantasy novels. His career began for real in the late 1980s, creating artwork for games such as Mutant Chronicles, Dungeons & Dragons, Vampire, and Shadowrun. Companies included Wizards of the Coast, Paizo, FASA Corporation, Iron Crown Enterprises, Steve Jackson Games, and many more.

After moving to Stockholm and a brief stint in advertising, Peter landed his first project with Dark Horse Comics, providing artwork for the Hellboy Roleplaying Game.

In 2006, he released The Portent, his first graphic novel, through Image Comics, followed by a run on Strange Girl with Rick Remender. He later produced several graphic novels for IDW with writers Richard Morgan and Alex Irvine, as well as the award-winning The Dunwich Horror with Joe R. Lansdale.
