Peter Bergting and the Mignolaverse
Peter Bergting has worked with Dark Horse Comics for almost 25 years, beginning with the Hellboy Sourcebook and Roleplaying Game in 2002. This began a long-running creative collaboration with Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden and led to Peter becoming one of the artists working extensively in the Hellboy Universe and Mignolaverse.
Over the years, Peter has contributed to more than 50 comic books and nine graphic novels with Mignola and Golden, including Baltimore, Joe Golem: Occult Detective, Outerverse and Frankenstein: New World. His work has included interior artwork and covers.
Dark Horse Comics
In 2013, Domovoi was published by Dark Horse Comics, marking Peter’s first graphic novel for the publisher.
While working on his next graphic novel, a follow-up to The Portent, Peter was asked to draw a test page for Baltimore, the ongoing comic book series created by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden.
Peter was hired shortly afterwards to continue the series, following in the footsteps of Ben Stenbeck. He went on to become a regular artist in the Mignolaverse, taking over the art duties on Joe Golem: Occult Detective from Patrick Reynolds.
Peter later worked on Outerverse, a miniseries featuring characters connected to the wider Mignola and Golden universe. He currently works with Mike Mignola, Christopher Golden and Thomas Sniegoski on Frankenstein: New World, a title set in the Hellboy Universe.
Peter has also illustrated Mortal Terror by Christopher Golden and Tim Lebbon for Dark Horse Comics.

Together, these projects represent a substantial part of Peter’s work in American comics and his contribution to the Mignolaverse and Hellboy Universe.
Other American comics
The Portent, Peter’s first comic book, was published by Image Comics and was the first comic by a Swedish artist to be published by one of the top five U.S. comic book companies. The book featured an introduction and forewords by Michael Kaluta and Brom, while Mike Mignola contributed a back-cover blurb describing it as “incredibly beautiful and strange.”
Peter continued working with Image Comics, including a collaboration with Rick Remender on the final four issues of Strange Girl. He subsequently produced graphic novels for IDW, including Dark Sun: Ianto’s Tomb with Alexander Irvine, The Dunwich Horror with Joe R. Lansdale, and Crysis with Richard Morgan.
Peter has also published numerous graphic novels in Sweden, including a follow-up to Fast Cash with Jens Lapidus.
